Find the perfect place to stay in Whistler
Wedgewoods is Whistler's most secluded and private neighborhood, sitting approximately 12 minutes north of Whistler Village in a stunning terraced mountain valley surrounded by forest, peaks, and the kind of stillness that is increasingly hard to find. Built on expansive acreage properties with sweeping views of Wedge Mountain and the Coast Mountains, Wedgewoods is not your typical Whistler neighborhood. It is a genuine wilderness retreat for those who want more space, more privacy, and a deeper connection to the natural world, while still having access to all the adventure and amenities that make Whistler world-famous. If you are looking for the ultimate private mountain escape, Wedgewoods is in a category of its own.
Wedgewoods Vacation Rentals for Skiers & Snowboarders
Whistler Village and the ski lifts are just a 12-minute drive from Wedgewoods, making it a practical base for a ski or snowboard trip for those who prefer to stay well away from the village crowds. The Whistler Heliport is just minutes from the neighborhood, making Wedgewoods the closest base in Whistler for heli-skiing adventures into the Coast Mountains backcountry. For those chasing untouched powder beyond the boundaries of Whistler Blackcomb, there is no better address in the corridor. Return at the end of the day to a sprawling private estate, a crackling fire, and views of the mountains fading into the evening sky.
Wedgewoods Vacation Rentals for Mountain Biking, Hiking & Summer Adventure
Summer in Wedgewoods is an outdoor enthusiast's dream. The neighborhood sits at the foot of Wedgemount Lake Trail, one of the most spectacular day hikes in all of British Columbia, climbing through old-growth forest to a jaw-dropping glacial lake beneath the flanks of Wedge Mountain. Local mountain biking trails wind directly through the surrounding forest, offering immediate access to some of the Sea to Sky corridor's most immersive riding. Green Lake is just around the corner, and as the only lake in Whistler where motorized watercraft are permitted, it is a hub of summer activity. Wakeboarding, water skiing, and wake surfing are all popular on the lake, and the fly fishing on Green Lake and surrounding waters is world-class. Harbour Air floatplanes operate directly from Green Lake, offering breathtaking scenic flights over the Coast Mountains and connecting service to Vancouver, making Wedgewoods one of the most uniquely accessible remote retreats in British Columbia.
Wedgewoods Vacation Rentals for Families & Groups
Wedgewoods is perfectly suited to families and groups who want something genuinely different from a standard Whistler stay. The neighborhood's large estate homes offer space and privacy that simply does not exist closer to the village, with expansive outdoor areas, mountain views in every direction, and a natural environment that children and adults alike will find endlessly captivating. The charming town of Pemberton is just 15 minutes north, offering fresh berry picking, local dining, and a glimpse of authentic Sea to Sky valley life. For those who want the thrill of the mountains in a different way, Cougar Mountain, just across the highway, offers zip-lining and snowmobiling for the whole group.

A History and Overview of Whistler
Whistler and the surrounding areas hold thousands of years of history as these lands were the home of the Coast Salish First Nations before Europeans arrived, with Whistler serving as a valuable trading post between the Squamish and Lil'wat nations. Many of the hiking tracks around Whistler are actually the traditional routes of the Coast Salish peoples, and you can follow their paths to view nature and the landscape similarly to how they once did. You can also visit the Squamish-Lil'wat Cultural Centre to get a complete grasp of the region's history and identity.
Named "Whistler" thanks to the shrill sound that the local hoary marmot populations make, the early 1900s saw European settlement, first as a small hunting and fishing village, then as a successful mining town until the 1950s turned it into a popular summer vacation spot. The 1960s saw the first ski resort on the mountain open, and then in 2010, Whistler hosted the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.
