Find the perfect place to stay in Whistler
Ski-in/ski-out is the most sought-after amenity in all of Whistler vacation rentals, and once you have experienced it, it is nearly impossible to go back. No shuttles, no parking lots, no lugging gear through the village. Just clip in at your front door and ski directly onto Whistler Blackcomb, one of the largest and most celebrated ski resorts in the world. At the end of the day, ski back to your door, step inside, and let the mountain come to you. It is the purest, most effortless way to experience a Whistler ski trip, and our collection of ski-in/ski-out vacation rentals makes it accessible for every group size and budget.
What Does Ski-In/Ski-Out Mean in Whistler?
Ski-in/ski-out means your vacation rental has direct slope access, allowing you to ski or snowboard onto the mountain from your property and return the same way at the end of the day without ever needing to remove your boots or use any form of transport. In Whistler, true ski-in/ski-out properties are located in a handful of slopeside neighborhoods, including the Benchlands, Upper Village, and Creekside, each offering direct access to different parts of the Whistler Blackcomb ski area. Not all properties marketed as slopeside offer true ski-in/ski-out access, which is why booking through a trusted local property manager like Outpost matters. Every property in our ski-in/ski-out collection has been verified for genuine slope access.
Ski-In/Ski-Out Vacation Rentals on Whistler Mountain
Properties with ski-in/ski-out access to Whistler Mountain are primarily located in the Benchlands and Village Centre neighborhoods, with direct access to the Whistler Gondola base and the lower mountain trail network. Waking up and skiing out your door to the Whistler Gondola, the Fitzsimmons Express, or the Emerald Express is the kind of morning that makes a ski trip genuinely exceptional. With over 3,000 hectares of terrain, 16 alpine bowls, 3 glaciers, and more than 200 marked runs on Whistler Mountain alone, you will never run out of mountain to explore.
Ski-In/Ski-Out Vacation Rentals on Blackcomb Mountain
Blackcomb Mountain ski-in/ski-out properties are concentrated in the Upper Village and Benchlands neighborhoods, with direct access to the Excalibur Gondola base and the Blackcomb trail network. Blackcomb is home to some of Whistler's most iconic terrain, including the Blackcomb Glacier, 7th Heaven, and the legendary Spanky's Ladder couloirs. Ski-in/ski-out access here means you can be at the top of Blackcomb before the lifts fill up, a significant advantage on busy powder days. After a long day on the mountain, Merlin's Bar and Grill and the Dubh Linn Gate Irish Pub are steps from your door for well-earned après ski.
Ski-In/Ski-Out Vacation Rentals in Creekside
Creekside offers its own dedicated ski-in/ski-out experience via the Creekside Gondola, which connects directly to the Whistler Mountain ski area. Creekside ski-in/ski-out properties offer a quieter, more local base area experience than the main village, with the same access to world-class Whistler Blackcomb terrain. For those who prefer a more relaxed pace off the mountain, Creekside ski-in/ski-out rentals are among the most atmospheric and sought-after in our entire collection.
Ski-In/Ski-Out Vacation Rentals for Families
For families travelling with young children, ski-in/ski-out access is not just a luxury; it is a genuine game-changer. The daily logistics of a ski trip with kids, boot bags, helmets, poles, and impatient little skiers, become dramatically simpler when the mountain is right outside your door. Many of our ski-in/ski-out properties include boot dryers, secure ski storage, and spacious living areas designed with families in mind. Several also feature private hot tubs, making the end of every ski day something the whole family looks forward to.
Ski-In/Ski-Out Vacation Rentals for Groups
A ski-in/ski-out vacation rental transforms a group ski trip into something truly memorable. With the whole crew under one roof and the mountain at your door, every day starts and ends together without the coordination overhead of shuttles, meeting points, or parking. Our ski-in/ski-out collection includes properties sleeping four to sixteen or more, from well-appointed slopeside condos to full multi-bedroom chalets with private hot tubs and mountain views in every direction.
Ski-in/ski-out properties are the first to book in our collection each winter season. We strongly recommend reserving your dates as early as possible, particularly for peak holiday periods, spring break, and the prime January-to-March powder window.

A History and Overview of Whistler
Whistler and the surrounding areas hold thousands of years of history as these lands were the home of the Coast Salish First Nations before Europeans arrived, with Whistler serving as a valuable trading post between the Squamish and Lil'wat nations. Many of the hiking tracks around Whistler are actually the traditional routes of the Coast Salish peoples, and you can follow their paths to view nature and the landscape similarly to how they once did. You can also visit the Squamish-Lil'wat Cultural Centre to get a complete grasp of the region's history and identity.
Named "Whistler" thanks to the shrill sound that the local hoary marmot populations make, the early 1900s saw European settlement, first as a small hunting and fishing village, then as a successful mining town until the 1950s turned it into a popular summer vacation spot. The 1960s saw the first ski resort on the mountain open, and then in 2010, Whistler hosted the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.
