Whistler Mountain Bike Park

The Whistler Mountain Bike Park is one of the most iconic downhill biking destinations in the world. Each summer, riders travel to Whistler to experience its extensive network of trails, berms, jumps, flow tracks, and technical descents. Designed for everyone from first-time riders to professional athletes, the park features progressive terrain across multiple zones accessed by lift.

The atmosphere throughout the village is energetic during bike season, with riders filling patios, trails, and events throughout the summer months. Lessons, rentals, and protective gear are widely available, making it accessible for beginners while still offering challenging terrain for experienced riders. Open typically from spring through fall, the bike park combines adrenaline, mountain scenery, and world-class trail design into one of Whistler’s most popular summer experiences.

Good To Know

  • The Whistler Mountain Bike Park features more than 4,900 vertical feet of lift-accessed terrain across multiple riding zones, with trails ranging from beginner-friendly flow tracks to highly technical expert descents.
  • Trail ratings follow the standard green, blue, black, and double black system, helping riders progressively build confidence while clearly identifying technical difficulty and trail style throughout the park.
  • Beginner riders are encouraged to start on easier flow trails and consider lessons, with introductory coaching programs available that include rentals, protective equipment, lift access, and guided instruction.
  • Protective equipment including full-face helmets, gloves, and pads is strongly recommended, as Whistler’s downhill trails are longer, faster, and more physically demanding than many traditional mountain bike networks.
  • The bike park is divided into several zones including Fitzsimmons, Garbanzo, Creekside, and Peak, each offering different terrain styles, technical features, and progression opportunities for varying ability levels.
  • Peak Zone access is weather and snow dependent, with limited daily rider capacity due to alpine conditions and the sensitive mountain environment surrounding the Top of the World trail.
  • Summer weekends and major events such as Crankworx can significantly increase rider traffic throughout the park, so advance booking for tickets, rentals, and accommodations is highly recommended.
  • Riders should always remain aware of trail etiquette and safety signage, including keeping landings clear, avoiding stopped areas on trail features, and respecting all marked closures throughout the park.
